Isn't this spam?

Other than submitting to Google & DMOZ, optimising layout & getting lots of relevant content aren't most other SEO strategies cheating in some way, & therefore expensive & temporary fixes at best?

SEO stuff can work, if you know what you are doing. But it is a continuous job. Needs constant tweaking of site content to do it properly.

So they're not (all) cheating, but the "expensive & temporary fix" bit still holds water then?

Just wondering, it was the general impression I get from most SEO cowb... er... companies.

To be honest, I think you're targetting the wrong forum for the stuff you're offering.

Can be worth paying someone to help your site ratings along if you / your web developers aren't up to date with current search engine algorithms and ranking mechanisms.

Temporary is certainly true to an extent. If you're in a competitive field even more so.

Expensive ? That's rather subjective, depends on your view.

If your site doesn't appear in first 3 pages of a search result it would probably be worth putting some effort in as your site wont be attracting the customers. So paying a bit to get an expert to work on it may help, if you have confidence in the experts ability.

Because your approach is all wrong. Your original post is full of spelling and grammar errors which doesn't instill me with confidence to begin with.
