ParkyJnr   10 #37 Posted July 22, 2007 It's interesting, Derobee that it happened to you and the impact it had. Thanks for sharing.
 Share this content via...
djelibeybi   10 #38 Posted July 23, 2007 My uncle's a postie and I told him about Jo's experience.  He has confirmed that it's Post Office policy that items are to be delivered to someone INSIDE the house. He's had people he doesn't know approach him in the street and ask him for mail. He's refused, and had people standing on doorsteps waiting to intercept him.  He really narked one person he refused to hand over a giro envelope to, by shoving it through the letterbox when the guy was stood outside demanding it from him. Atleast that meant the person who it was addressed to would receive it, and if this person WAS who they said they were, then they could open THEIR front door and retrieve it.  Curious that the person DIDN'T have a doorkey and hurled abuse at my uncle for posting the envelope....don't you think? ParkyJnr   10 #39 Posted July 23, 2007 It just goes to show you doesn't it?  What a shame that the postie can't trust people to be honest and what a shame he had to put up with abuse for doing his job.
 Share this content via...
