My video has gotten to the top 20 videos on YouTube today:

Hillsborough / Penistone Road at the height of the floods: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dbkizUtNSqA

I'm a bit cheesed off with some of the comments on there though, such a serious subject with many people losing their homes and some even losing their lives - and people are on there bantering about football. Has the community spirit of the last few days totally dissipated?

5 weirs ..

matey and me rode up the tinsley canals and down as much of the 5 weirs as we could,

apart from a fallen tree i had to climb over the tinsley canal seemed ok,

the walk down the wicker was pretty much back to normal

(apart from the road works ) although we both did quietly mention the old man who died there,

although it looked closed (at least from the wicker) the 5 weirs was open on this section

it was only as we approached the top locked gates that we saw the first real evidence of damage to the trail caused by flooding,

the path had been washed away here,

this was the worse area along the trail, very sandy under the bridge

and the path was blocked by more debri

needless to say the gates were locked,

at meadowhall everything looked relativly ok (clean up in work)

but there was 2 cars in the river here and here

id seen the bridge (scaffold) on the news when the whole place was under water and it was

obvious why

the debri is crammed right under to the other side,

the wall above had gone as well,

if this was febuary,it'd be the worse febuary ever

JJ..

Wow, SV500! I was just wondering today about the 5 weirs walk. I've only seen the debris at Lady's Bridge while shopping today, but as I suspected the aftermath photos can be just as impressive in their own way as the high water ones. That scaffold bridge is amazing. It shows there's more to clearing up than swilling roads and mopping floors. The rivers themselves need some TLC even though the water's back to normal.

A bit out of Sheffield but this is the road that runs between the golf course between Eckington and Renishaw:

and this is actually the 10th hole at Renishaw Golf Course (thats what you call a water hazard!:

I feel sorry for the owners (just outside Meadowhall):

and this is the footbridge just below the weir:

Any one got any photos of the flooding / damage @ neepsend substation etc?

since this seems to be the "cause" of the powercuts.

Here's one I took on Tuesday, not particularly great though.

Also, what remains of the nearby bridge: photo / video
