nez75 Â Â 10 #1 Posted October 15, 2004 Does anyone know where to dispose of old mobile phones? I know there are places to take them rather than just chucking them in the bin. Thanks
 Share this content via...
neeeeeeeeeek   10 #2 Posted October 15, 2004 Treat them like that goldfish you won from the fair, or that little turtle you smuggled back from turkey in your shoe. Or perhaps that baby crocodille that keeps growing.. Flush em down the bog!
 Share this content via...

Thanks Charity shops will take your old mobiles and they somehow get a return on them.  Likewise a mobile phone shop will accept your old mobile and dispose of it properly... It shouldn't just be binned though because of the battery which needs proper disposal..  If you do a little net searching there's places that will send you an envelope to pop it in and then mail back to them free... wendy   10 #4 Posted October 15, 2004 Magic AM (Radio Hallam's Sister station) are taking them towards their guidedog appeal at the moment. They are on Herries Road (near the Wednesday ground). Apparently they get £3.50 towards their appeal for each one.
 Share this content via...

Andy   10 #6 Posted October 16, 2004 https://www.virginmobile.com/mobile/fonebak/Fonebak  Order an envelope or grab one from Virgin Megastore It's really easy to recycle your old mobile phone, and you'll be making a huge difference to our planet. How? Well, you'll be:  Protecting the environment- by preventing old mobile phones from ending up in landfill. Reducing the strain on the Earth's finite resources through recycling. Providing better and more affordable communication to developing countries. Raising money for The British Red Cross. All you need to do is get hold of a FREEPOST envelope.  You can order one right here, or you could pop into your nearest Virgin Megastores and grab one there. Then, just take your SIM card out and place your old mobile phone and accessories in the bag. Seal it up, then stick it in the post!  Once your phone is received, Virgin Mobile will make a donation of £5 to the British Red Cross for every reusable phone. Lickszz   10 #8 Posted October 16, 2004 Not sure if they still do but Tesco used to give you a measly 150 clubcard points to take your old one off you. You had to collect a green recycle bag from the store and post it off. I wouldn't be surprised if other supermarkets did something like this.
