Have you ever heard the Sheffield accent HappyHoosier ?

Sort of... I mean, not in a face-to-face conversation.

I've heard Sean Bean in interviews. I've seen "When Saturday Comes" and "The Big Monty." The latter, of course, featured a Scotsman playing a Sheffielder, although I read Robert Carlyle's accent was pretty good. Oh, and I've heard Sharpsinger singing.

Sean Bean sounds just like us Sheffielders. My sister lives in Connecticut, and when I went over they couldnt understand what I was saying.:hihi:

Sheffielders probably couldn't understand a Yank in their midst, either. Everyone in America thinks their way of talking is the standard and that people from other regions have the accents. I definitely don't have an accent -- but people from Connecticut sure do!:hihi:

I'm one of those gits (mentioned on this forum before!) who turns on the English subtitles when I'm watching British movies.

Agent Orange and anyone else: I would be delighted to play host to Sheffield Forumers who find themselves in the Hoosier state. Ax murderers need not apply.

Wouldn't mind going on a road trip across the states and if I ever do, I will be sure to come knocking and waving the Sheff Forum flag :)
