Shower too hot after replacing hose

FYTC and phawley - thanks, I think that's the most likely reason. Either of you 2 know if there is a 'standard' diameter for a shower hose? The replacement one came from Lidl, I'll measure the diameter later tonight.

Or it could be you knocked the internal thermostat installing the new hose...

 

Nah .. I put the old one back on to be sure before it was thrown away

It's more likely the shower head that's restricting the flow with either fewer or smaller holes.

 

The chrome hoses do have a plastic pipe inside them and are usually a standard diameter.
