SimpyTimpy Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 I spent the last two years doing a huge project on the benefits, disadvantages and praticalities of franchises for Business and Economics. Unfortunatly I don't have much hands on experience but I know the theory behind it.
pete_jim Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 So the average profit per machine is £40. Have you costed your time and expenses in servicing each machine? The relatively small amount of profit is good if you have a lot of machines in a small area but if it takes you an average of an hour per machine and you add travel costs, petrol, insurance etc what are you left with? Divide your initial investment by the actual clear profit after tax etc and it might take you a long time to recoup your money I don't mean to be doom laden but I know of two people who have both come unstuck with wildly differing franchises and not made anything like the advertised rewards. The reverse is that a (now) very wealthy man in Sheffield has made fortunes from Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises.
