Racism. How Do YOU Define it?

A racist is someone who judges a person on the things they have no control over - their skin, their ancestry, their racial ( also cultural and religious ) heritage, rather than the stuff they actually do, and say and the way they behave.

But we have so many definitions of the word and concept of RACE.

Theres the Female race, the American race, the human race, even the Animal race.

Im lost and I havent even started yet. Race is something thats always eluded understanding from me.

So its... the racist in this case has only a... only relatively shallow targets to attack...? Appearance and .. ok heritage is hardly a shallow thing is it...

Sorry, Jabbers, not quite getting you here - can you expand a bit?

I think we all make some initial judgements and assumptions about people based on their appearance. I think racists don't really make any effort to go beyond this - they just see a black face and think something negative, and that's it. Other people might be aware of some of their own assumptions, but put those aside for long enough to get to know that person better, and then make more useful judgements based on what that person says and does.

Im just trying to simplify the concept of Racism.

Thinking aloud there basically.

I honestly have a deep problem with understanding it. Its so full of grey areas, no black and whites.
