parcher Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Podge, my canary starts singing the minute there is any light in the room. The moggies insist on getting up at 5 am each morning and driving me batty till I get up! The favoured technique is a delicate claw inserted into my lip!
Gemima Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 We are all early birds in our house and the dogs are on their first walk at 5.30am ish. The cats start at about 5.28am anticipating the dog walk
Lindseyw Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 For the first time ever we took number 1 doggy for an early morning walk on Sunday - she was DISGUSTED !!! She plodded along and lagged behind & didn't cheer up until she realised we were on our way home. They are all lazy dogs & dont like too much fuss until mid morning. They are now where I left them when I came to work this morning. On my bed, fast asleep
medusa Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Podge, my canary starts singing the minute there is any light in the room. That's why I made blackout covers for the cages that housed my lovebirds and the overnight accommodation for my parrakeet. They were in my bedroom, and the dawn chorus was deafening otherwise.
dlee Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 you couldnt call my two staffys early birds they still havnt got out of there bed and its 9.45 . they usualy get up between 10 and 10.30 lol
kittenta Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 My eldest cat goes out around 4am and comes back for breakfast at 8am usually. The dog on the other hand would just stay in bed all day only getting up to eat, she really is a lazy one, except if the phone rings
Moonbird Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Usually my lot keep my hours, cats and 2 dogs are downstairs anyway (heartless mummy i know ) so unless they bark or cry they don't wake me, but i do know if i get up really early which i do at times beig a bit of an insomniac, they don't bother to get up and greet me, Durham who sleeps in my room refuses to get up and come down stairs before about 8 usually ... although recently i did take them for a walk at 5am and we all loved it, mind you we were all a bit shell shocked for the rest of the day
KATIEB_23 Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Ok - so I know people who's dogs love their lay ins. In fact, they have difficulty dragging them out for a walk in a morning. That sums up Gadget! When we leave for work he just flicks his tail in a sleepy way, and blinks a lot as if to say "as soon as you're out that door, these eyes are shutting again..." I went to take him for a walk the other day at 9am - and he looked at me like I'd gone completely nuts! He does wake me up at weekends though - OH gets up at 9am and Gadget plods upstairs to steal his empty space under the duvet... then will stay still & fast asleep in bed until 12-1ish!
Litha Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 its not the my kittys and dogs that wake me up at the crack of dawn its Shane nudging me and swearing and telling me to do sumert about my bloody bleeping cats Like Katkin i can sleep through anything which is a good job really cos 2 cats 4 kittens and a rotty all running riot round the house bouncing off the bed and generally causing chaos is a little loud Our Storm the akita is lazy tho and hates getting up, shes like me i need 20 cigs and a gallon of tea before im alive
Lotti Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 Storm smokes? I can see how your house would be a tad noisy Litha! well I got up at 9am this morning and my dogs were still asleep!!!!! I couldn't believe it! Katie I wish mine would do that - once they're up there's no going back to bed again
