Starts 23.00 - 23.30 hrs on Saturday 23rd June 2007 – final details to be arranged and sent by PM. The route will be the same as the Midweek 20/21st (Solstice) Walk Sunrise on the 24th June approx 04.38 - the walk will finish around 04.00 - 05.00 am Midsummer is traditionally celebrated on either the 23rd or 24th of June although the longest day actually falls on the 21st. I would like to finish with a hearty breakfast somewhere but who will be open at this time on Sunday? – any suggestions? This walk will be cancelled if it is raining or a morning mist is expected, a final posting would be made at 20.00 hrs on the 23 June, 2007. Please PM me and I will send final details of start point in good time. Galloway
Unsure, until nearer the day, if I'll make it to this walk but suggestions for brekkers, if you can't find anywhere open: Take BBQ to have at end of walk (things can be stored in walkers' cars) Car boot sales open early (not that early though?!) & have brekkers wagons Link to comment https://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/topic/86074-midsummer-overnight-walk-ii/#findComment-1486853 Share on other sites
Albert T Smith
I'll be on this providing its not raining. (Don't like getting wet). Galloway:- May have brought up a very good point. Is the car boot sale at Owler Bar still in existance? If so are breakfast's available? or does the land lord at the Peakcock serve early bird meals? scoobz
I'll be on this one all being well. Just depends on my transport situation. Link to comment https://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/topic/86074-midsummer-overnight-walk-ii/#findComment-1490472 Share on other sites
Albert T Smith
Because of the uncertain weather, does anyone fancy going up to the Sheffield Border just past Ringinglow and sitting in the car in the laybye to see dawn break?
