Bago Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 lol. So many things are wrong, but erm... yes... Are you sure it's wooing, and not just the singing? I imagine that Bollywood is similar to the HK movie industry whereby there's 20 bad movies and 5 good ones per year. They gotta do more movies than Hollywood since their audiences are limited to one country. How else do they keep the industry going anyway? There is a change to the industry though, and John Woo has made his name in Hollywood. There was also a shift in the styles of movies made in HK too. I think Infernal Affairs was one of those well done ones. I still cannot believe the remark of it, and the credibility went to Sorcese. Tsk. It's always been a case of other countries copying Hollywood, but now the opposite is happening. Ironic really.
prnss Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 lol... u must have a soft spot for Mr B, if ALL the trailers u have seen have him in em... Its tru theres a movie out at the moment dnt know the name as im not a huge bollywood fan... but its exactly that..Mr B falls for a very young female....it just not rite....lolz Theres been friction about the movie
Bago Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 What's it called? Where is it broadcast though? It wouldn't be in corner houses would it?
Bago Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 lol. Ok. ... Just got the bit where you said, you didn't know the name of it. So, where can a person get hold of a Bollywood film in the UK then? Do they sell any in places like Virgin Megastore as World Films?
prnss Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 nah...never in HMV but im sure local video shops rent indian films... check some out on u tube... there films give great ideas for asian clothes... well they used to..now the stars wears hardly anything..lol
Bago Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I was going to say, isn't that kind of taboo?? That girl in the red criss-cross dress was in a *really* revealing number! >.< Some of the Bollywood actresses are quite tall. Quite stunning actually.
prnss Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 they r beautiful.... as Muslims we're not allowed to wear revealing outfits but most of the actresses are Hindu im guessing.. and in their religion they are allowed to dress in that way
rubydazzler Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I love bollywood films - don't have a clue what's happening most of the time but the costumes, music, dancing and sheer spectacle of them is fantastic. They just go on a bit too long for someone like me with the attention span of a gnat. Love the listing of the 'joint hosts' on that website - Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, York and Hull, not even in alphabetical order. Look North almost managed to avoid mentioning us at all during its extensive coverage of the event
Bago Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Oh yeh. I haven't thought about that. But still.. isn't Hinduism about preserving one's honor too? I saw what Richard Gere did to Shilpa Shetty, and was gobsmacked. >.<
