daftlad
I do hope everyone is okay. There was two cars in the middle of queens road where the juction of midhill road is, near the earl of arundel pub. Plenty of fire service and ambulance staff there

I passed in the car about 20 past nine and it had happened then, could not see any people about so must have happened quite a few minutes earlier
scoop
Unrelated to this crash, but I was on Queens rd earlier today when I saw three seperate near misses caused by people being in the wronglane of that funny system (is it called a contraflow). It must be really confusing for drivers who aren't used to it.
DIVA
It can't be three months ago since I saw a bad accident there, ambulance attended. Do the police make traffic improvement recommendations based on number of accidents in an area?

jo2310
I drove past at about 9 o'clock and the police and there was just one police car there. Looked like it had just happened then. There was a passer by talking to driver inside one of the cars and there was a lot of blood on the road!!! Made my stomach turn. I hope they are all ok. I don't think it was because of the contra flow tho, there was just the normal two lanes on each side, it was actually at the lights at the junction with the earl pub on the opposite side near halfords. Planner1
It can't be three months ago since I saw a bad accident there, ambulance attended. Do the police make traffic improvement recommendations based on number of accidents in an area? The police don't usually make recommendations for traffic improvements but they do record all road traffic collisions which involve injuries. The Government have set challenging targets for Councils to significantly reduce the amount of injury accidents, particularly those involving children. The Council have access to the police database, monitor for accident hotspots and look to introduce remedial measures where they can. That site is well known for red light running collisions, that's why there's a red light camera there. The tidal flow system also brings it's own problems for motorists. I travel on it every day, and EVERY day someone comes flying up on the outside and cuts in at the end. I'm just suprised there aren't more accidents.
