I can only think of 'Chamberlain' . . . that was the first black player I can remember for the mighty Owls.

I belive you are right as i have been looking at des hazel on google and he is 87-88 and a list of all players came up including profiles

None that I can remember - although the Hillsborough pitch was a lot muddier in those days so they often looked black.
