The London 2012 logo was revealed today.

To me it doesn't excite and lacks class.

What do you guys think?

If you don't like it and want the olympic committee to change their minds then please sign the online petition.

Opps didn't realise someone had already started thread, sorry!;)

Oh God help us.

Will there be anything that we won't moan about?? :hihi:

I think a British Designer should've taken up the job. Someone like Conran, or that guy who did the double-helix structure in the Glaxo-Wellcome building in London. I've forgotten his name now, but his work was very unique.

It's one of the worst logos I can ever remember seeing it's hard to believe that a professional designed it and that it was actually the best/least bad option available to whoever approved it.

The olympic committee say the logo is not up for debate but I think they might reconsider if public opinion against it continiues at this pace.

The online petition has already gained 12,200 signatures. 2,500 in the last hour!;)

Bearing in mind only a handful of the UK population have actually seen it, just imagine the backlash against it once it gets into the popular press tomorrow morning!:hihi:

Lol at the fire exit one. :hihi:

Several of those are so much better, really combining the elements in a simple but imaginative way. The way the first one fits the Olympic rings into London is the sort of thing that's needed. I also liked the idea of the tube map and the Olympic rings interchange. And why on earth have they used bright pink? They should have used the Olympic colours ( which represent all the flags of the world) or red white and blue. That's two sets of branding waiting to be cleverly exploited.
