shoeshine
Well should it? Is it time for the teachers to regain their primary position in the classroom, or should they have to bow to the namby pamby PC Brigade who think their "little darlinks" should grow up to be shoplifters, muggers, housebreakers extrordinaire with no guidance from figures of authority? If teachers can only regain their primary position in the classroom by threatening violence then they are possibly in the wrong job. Bullies and badly behaved children should be dealt with definately and properly but violence should never be used against a child.

The scrotes use disruption and on occasions violence on peaceful, willing-to- learn kids! Why not nip it in the bud after Round 1?
Spotty
Perhaps it would be better to punish the parent of the unruly child. Maybe the parents could be fined for every lesson their child disrupts.
xxsarahxx
i dont like the thought of my child getting beatings by a teacher,or by anyone for that matter.. i do think the teachers need to give out dicipline (not sure of the spelling..lol) but im not sure the cane is the right way. elora*
would it really make a difference? when i was at school and we were caned, it was more like a badge of honour than anything else! my brothers had a worst time as they had a PE teacher who was pretty much a sadist, and used to beat kids with a stick, but it was still the same! the ooh look how naughty i am attitude. i agree that something needs to be done, but i don't see that violence is the answer.
