AndySheff Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I've heard you can get free subscription to sky+ fron July 1st. moneysavingexpert forums have some more details.
xircon Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I have Sky "freesat", the flat i moved into had a dish, so i picked up an old sky digibox on ebay and purchased a card from Sky (£20 iirc). Can't get e4,e4+1 or more4 (but why would i want too?) otherwise pretty much the same as freeview.
SpeedwayDan Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Is that true about Sky+ being sub free soon, i'm paying about £36 a month for it, but thinking of paying just £10 a month for their freesat with the sky+ feature, which i've heard you can do. I have an HD Tv but there's no way i'm subscribing for a better picture as well, the robbing gits!! it should be free. i think the poster meant you wont be paying extra on top of your subscription for using sky+, i think it's an extra £10 per month but i get it free anyway as we've got sky multiroom
ohdonnyboy Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 hi my brother had sky only the free channels he didn't subscribe his programmes froze and couldn't get anything, when he rang them up they said they couldn't help because he wasn't a subscriber so we told him how to upgrade the box this is what you have to do is 1)turn off your box at the mains 2)get someone to hold the three buttons on the front tv guide etc the three in a row hold them untill all the lights come on together about 30 seconds then let go 3)then the screen will go black with writing telling you to not disconect will take about twenty mins 4)this will upgrade the sky box 5)my brother got his free channels and put his box back to normal, but he does have a card so if it ever have a problem you can always use this info hope you get fixed up

I'm having technical problems with my Sky + box in S3 and the sodding tech support monkeys at Sky are no help! I wouldn't mind if I didn't have to ring a flaming 08705 number every time I need to report a fault! Honestly if I could get Virgin and it wasn't an additional £26 a month to get the Sky Sports channels from them I'd bin Sky in favour of Virgin Media. Only thing that would put me off is that like Sky, their call centres are in the darkest regions of Scotland where they all talk funny (no offence intended to savbaby or any other Scots there)
Ghozer Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Currently Sky + is free if you have any of the premium packages (Movies, Sports, etc) and its been like that for a while. Only thing that would put me off is that like Sky, their call centres are in the darkest regions of Scotland where they all talk funny (no offence intended to savbaby or any other Scots there) LOL! I know EXACTLY where the call center is, its 20 minute walk away from my OH, in Rosyth, (Dunfirmline, Fife, Scotland ) and thats not the Darkest region of scotland.. and where they talk funny.. nah, thats more northern and western like Glasgow...

The £10/month Sky+ fee will no longer exist in July for any subscription customers. Now I've just got to work out how to wangle a free Sky+ box and installation from them

ohdonnyboy Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 tell them you want to cancel your subscription then they might offer you one always worth a try
Twiglet Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 You can by trying this. http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=636302 But the box is just for the new customer not the person who introduces them. Which begs the questions: why bother introducing anybody
