snail Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Well it has to be Hendo relish all the way, The world would be wrong without it,and as for Pie, i could never imagine pie tasting the same again without it. i literally export Hendo relish to my family who live all over the country. My mother in law lives in Nottingham, and i take her 5 bottles every time i go,and thats just 1 of my regulars-LOL Hendersons relish No1
Kimpton Posted June 4, 2007 Author Posted June 4, 2007 Well Well, the usual suspects trot out in defence of Hendersons....I do in fact have some in my cupboard, just to test that I am in fact correct in my assertion that it is inferior to L&P.... Indeed, L&P is National and therefore more 'popular' for one very good reason, it is clearly a class above. As for Hendos becoming a national icon..."You Can't Handle National!" And so it remains a meer sideshow protected by the hills of Sheffield. Whilst we on the 'outside' smile sympathetically at those who foolishly follow the cult of Hendersons. PS...If Cunninghams Piccallili does not start shaping up, (too runny lately) it will join Hendos in the bin.
Guest teebee Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 the worst bit is you cant get a decent fishcake in derby to smother your hendersons on.
melthebell Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 lol @ this thread well since lea and perrins is countrywide, and hendies is only available (mostly) in sheffield you surprised? tbh ive never had lea and bobbins, just good old hendies

Could it be that it's your pie that doesn't taste right or that your food isn't good enough for hendo's I can't stand l&p, it tastes awful. Hendo's on cheese on toast is gorgeous
daftlad Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 I have taken Hendos all over the world on my travels. About 2 years ago I took 12 bottles out to my aussie relations. Lea and Perrins is foul and for the southern shandy drinkers. Should be used for disinfectant
drinkingman Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Sheffield's best kept secret, Meyt n' Putater pie wi' Hendos,
sarah1 Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I've never bought L+P, but I've tried it and it wasn't nice... Put me right off my stew it did... This thread has made me wonder you know... I'm off on hols tomorrow on an all inclusive basis, and a bottle of Hendersons would really save the day if the food isn't up to much...
