shoo gal
My mum is moving into a flat that has a ceramic hobs, does she need to buy saucepans specially for this? will the normal kind melt??
Mandem
If it is just a ceramic she should be okay with any pan, as that is what I have got. If it is induction, she will need one that has steel in it, ie. magnetic.
medusa
She shouldn't need any other sort of pans- whatever she's got should be just fine. The one thing that would really help though is if they have any damage to the bottom or unevenness then replace them because of that (because that will reduce the amount of scratches and the like on the hob surface which look really horrid if you aren't careful). Bago
I don't think any pans will "melt". Maybe it won't work as well, or unless it's a plastic pan.
discodown
You'll be fine, just don't bash them about or you'll scratch or damage the hob
