SimpyTimpy
I dont agree, i think he was a great referee and granted he made mistakes but he didn't have the nefits of action replays. Saying that, im a Manc fan and he gave us 'nuff' penalties ;P
daftlad
I can see his point about the FA coz they are a bunch of useless wazzocks. Having said that Poll seems a very arrogant man and won't be missed by myself and fellow Unitedites
carcrash
United against arse nil I agree but the most interesting thing about his retirement was the John Terry sending off and the lack of support he received. The rumour's were all over the place when it happened that Poll had sent him off for racist abuse of Ledley King which the FA in their infinite wisdom decided not to believe ( the refs word is law unless its the England captain) So I imagine all the main publishers are offering a fair amount for Polls story and we can expect it in a tabloid near you. Ousetunes
Graham Poll was the worst referee I have ever seen, and I've certainly seen many. In fact, he's THE example of how NOT to referee a game. His major problem was that for some reason he was always under the impression that the fans in the ground and those watching on television had come to see HIM and not the game. Common sense never came into any of his decisions and he couldn't wait to get the cards out and send players off so that come Sunday morning he could sit in bed with a bunch of Sunday newspapers and read about himself. His debacle in the world cup came as no surprise and as far as I'm concerned - and some players too - he won't be missed.
