Eleke95 Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Here are our allotment photos! Four of us took on an allotment in Rivelin in Jan this year and we are really enjoying it, although as we are all beginners perhaps our 2007 harvest will not be one to go down in history! What we took on at the end of Jan: And where we are now: and...: We are well pleased. Andloving the photo blog on Flickr too, although never get time to add regularly! Wow! what a difference! All your hard work is obviously paying off - well done!
beckelina Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Thanks Footiefreak - I am surprised at how much we have enjoyed it too, got into it a lot more than I expected! We have learnt so much in the first year - can;t really wait for winter to come, oddly, so we can get some proper preparation in!
Yellowrose Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 We moved in here about a month ago and both gardens looked as though they had been nice at one time, but had been neglected. Some plants remained, and it seemed to me that the front garden had been of the traditional "rose garden" type thing. Before: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/alysonpeaches/gardenjuly07001.jpg The purple loosestrife that was mentioned on my other thread had got a hold, but most troublesome to remove were the ash seedlings. After two sunday mornings and a certain amount of bribery involving my husband, this is the result: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/alysonpeaches/gardenjuly07018.jpg I know its not a dramatic transformation, but one of my neighbours has complimented me on it! I wouldnt have chosen a "rose garden" but I must admit it seems to be in keeping with the age and style of the house. I only replaced one rose ... the others I gave a bit of a tidy and sprayed with fungicide as they all have a bit of black spot. What do you think?
BoroughGal Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I think you've made a fab job - it looks lovely, neat and tidy - well done you!
Yellowrose Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Thank you all for your kind comments. The back needs a bit of work though! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/alysonpeaches/gardenjuly07028.jpg
