Sick of FireFox and SF

Disk checks are all fine -- it does it also on a fresh windows installation, and only firefox

I'm thinking something going on with sheffieldforum then.

But then again I also don't know anyone who can replicate the problem.

So is this on a clean install, no windows updates applied, nothing but network drivers installed and a fresh download of FF 2.0.0.3? Trying to make sure you haven't installed anything else that would clash. Not everyone's definition of 'clean install' is the same.

Have you got key bounce? You can always try changing your mouse settings?

Bizzare - I run firefox under OSX, Linux and Win XP and have not have that problem? One thing I have noticed (especially under XP) is that firefox occasionally goes ape and gobbles up all the system resources and crashes or freezes until I kill it and restart it.

I've tried holding tab down, pressing tab as fast as I can, doing the same with shift-tab... I just can't replicate the problem, no matter what I try.

Mind you I have noticed that when I post a quick reply it can hang for ages and to stop it happening I usually click advanced and post from there. I wonder if my "hanging" and your "crashing" are part of the same problem.
