sharpend
Anyone had reduced download speeds in the last week or so ? Mine is slower than a snail with athletes foot - general browsing ok - d/l is currently 15.2 kbps:(
WebDesigner
I've always had slow speeds with BT. Supposed to have up to 8mb but never atually had over 1mb.

It gets a bad press but (touch wood) it has never (really) let me down - and don't forget all the others piggy back BT anyway...

Yes, I know they piggy back BT, but in their adverts for broadband they say they have been judged as being the top boadband service provider. Sometimes they say its the area you are in dont they ? Just wondered why it had suddenly gone slow - maybe my neighbour is hosting a high traffic site and dragging bandwidth..

Then you know it SF.If its slow on them both, its your ISP.
steelhead31
What in particular is being slow?... I know BT have recently introduced throttling of download speeds at peak times. Cheers Scott
Rich
It some times is the area though, for example here in Stannington I don't think there's any household that can get above 512k, because we're too far away from the exchange near Fletcher's Bakery at Wadsley Bridge. And there's no cable round here so Virgin's out of the question as well.
