As this thread is a football one we seem to have gone slightly astray.Iv already said that he was a mate of mine and altho he did have a temper when on the ale he was always ok with me.I myself am not the best behaved chap when on the lash and can be a pain.Making statements about people is very easy when they have passed away but a lot of folk woudnt have had the ******** to say it to the blokes face.Anyhow if anyone wants to make anypoints about him pm me and im sure we could sort something out.ok.

Well said mate. Now back on topic for all the keyboard heroes.
canadablade Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Thats a good point about Laws with the youth, hes drafted a few young players through this spring and gave them proffesional contracts, it seems to be the way forward with clubs with debt problems and why not may i add. Yeah and one of them is my 2nd cousin :help:
CorkerSWFC Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Yeah and one of them is my 2nd cousin :help: Gl to him m8, like i said thats where English football should be, looking after the youngsters
freyasdad Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Yes back to the football. The times have changed when you own other clubs in different countries, dont have a £30 million debt and dont have to sell the only asset that can generate a few quid. Is my spelling okay fellas?
brooksy Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Just watching the golden years on sky.Season 92-93 and wishing i could travel in time. .Great moments and watching Warhurst on fire up front is great. The point made earlier about money is quite a good point.Even given the fact that teams who make the prem and stay there the money they recieve dosnt and hasnt given succes. The finance the big four or five generate takes them to another planet in the chase for honours. For our sheffield clubs i still think bringing the youth thro"local if possible" and still using exp players is the way.The amounts being paid for even average prem players is beyond both utd and the owls..That said things are on the up at our beloved owls and long may it continue.
dinger Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 when i went to watch the owls play earlyer on in the season i have to say i was impressed by their youth and i honestly have to agree that the youth is the way forward, sir alex started with a good youth team and turned them in to world class players.
