On Hallam FM on Friday one of the organisers said it might be the last one as the event had lost £50,000 over the two days.

I notice that Sheffield Events haven't bothered to comment on their dismall failure this year.

 

Considering their attitude towards the Sheffield people shown previously on the forum I guess they don't really have much to come back with.

 

I am so pleased their money making event failed.

LOL As a southerner I don't think you Sheffielders are tight; just full of common sense which is sadly lacking in many southerners. Which is why I am here.

 

People spend stupid amounts of money on things like fairs. Last August Bank Holiday I went to the American Adventure it was fantastic and no where near as expensive as the travelling fairs I have been to.

 

Did anyone go to the fair at Frith Park? What were the prices like there?

I am so glad I went to the farmers market. I spent a tenner and am still eating the produce I purchased with it. It is a pity there was not more on in the city centre instead of all that expensive stuff at Don Valley. I enjoyed the stalls in the city centre on the May Day bank holiday. Even though it was raining it was better being in the centre because you could dodge into John Lewis and other shops & warm up for free!

Just curious how that small area of grass at Don Valley Bowl could hope to hold anything like Hillsboro used to? That used to be massive! Glad we didn't go.
