StarSparkle Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 I don't think it's anyones world anymore...just a mad free for all. The winners are the bold, the brave and the lucky...of either sex. Loosers? The nice, the pleasant, the uncompetetive... ...who cares about them? It's certainly a mad free-for-all - it's your world if you're enough of a b****** to take advantage of it. Or if you already have the right connections, of course. Sadly, the world belongs to the users - the exploiters and the parasites. Whether male or female is immaterial. StarSparkle
buck Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Have you been in your friendly neighbourhood department store lately? Aisle after aisle of women's stuff. Cosmetics, lingerie, dresses, jewelry. Somewhere tucked into a quiet corner are some men's Y fronts maybe. As for shaving tackle, forget it. Maybe I exaggerate a little, but I refuse to go in with the wife because the ladies look at you like an intruder. There is a place called Home Depot which specializes in DIY stuff like paint, lumber , and tools. That's where I go except when I'm with her cos by the time she's done there "isn't time". Amazing.
mikey10 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Wrong. I just got a quote from them and I am male. It is marketed as being 100% for women; actually being 100% for women would be 100% illegal. well i stand corrected!
discodown Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 I can think of one area where men commonly tend to be discriminated against and that’s in child custody casesThere is one other area I can think of. Professional modelling. Females get paid significantly more than men
mikey10 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 There is one other area I can think of. Professional modelling. Females get paid significantly more than men and porn. women get paid more in that. men tend to volunteer!!
Kthebean Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Its definitely a mans world. If we're talking about Britain, then yes women are doing ok. Look somewhere like Saudi Arabia its a different story!
whitewitch Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 its still a mans world isnt it, they still get paid more money for doing the same job in some employments, wheres all the ladies magazines on the top shelf, with the man baring full frontal, women just have more choices than they had years ago
cressida Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 and porn. women get paid more in that. men tend to volunteer!! Exactly how do you know that Mikey, I trust you havn't been "volunteering":o
plekhanov Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 an insurancve company that would only take male drivers would cause outrage, if they were safer drivers, it wouldnt be allowed. This non-point if a insurance provider wanted to start a male only brand they could. you ignore the fact that FFJ was formed because of discrimination against men by women and the courts. Why are you trying to pretend I do any such thing when you know very well that I have specifically said that I considered custody cases one area where men are discriminated against in a post you read and responded to? Object, you disagree with? why no name calling then? Is there a law which says I have to use insulting language to describe every group I dislike every single time I mention them? the thread refered to a mans world, not purely discrimination. i ponted out that some women mimick men with their behaviour. In your 1st post you claimed 'men are discriminated against now, just as women were years ago.' I challenged you to back up that claim and in response you started going on about women drinking so I unsurprisingly took this as a rather pathetic attempt to substantiate your claim. As you have now conceded that this isn't evidence of discrimination against men what else do you have to substantiate your grand claim that 'men are discriminated against now, just as women were years ago.'?
plekhanov Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 This simply isn't true though in that women's groups do not argue that fathers and mothers should be treated equally, they want 'equality' at work (by which they mean special treatment) and to keep their privelaged status in respect of children. Which 'women's groups' are you referring to here? Women are "more equal" than men to use Orwell's phrase. So in this regard there is a coming together of old fashioned 'partriarchal' if you like crusty judges who think women are better at looking after children, and man-hating feminists who also think women are better at looking after children. Which feminists are you referring to here and what influence to they have over anything? And to say the F4J people (men and women) are "misogynist" is another spurious argument; why do we never hear the word "misandronist" applied to a woman? Because "misandronist" isn't a commonly used or accepted word perhaps? I have however repeatedly heard people erroneously claim feminists are 'misandrists'. Feminism is at its very heart misandronist, the reason being, it long ago stopped about being about allowing both genders freedom of choice and instead chose to borrow the language of the left - so if there's an oppressed class (women) then there must, logically, be an oppressor class (men). Whereas in fact women will never be equally represented in work while men are offered only work and nothing else. On what grounds do you make these bizarre claims about feminism?
