Names of "houses" in Sheffield schools

I went to Charnock - Brindly, Chantry, Hardiwlck & Nightingale were the housenames (I think)

For what It's worth, after leaving King Ted's, I went to Lady Manners at Bakewell (OK....not Sheffield I know but not a million miles away either) and we had Cockerton, Taylor, Glossop and another that escapes me.

i went to prince edward school on prince of wales road when i first went there the houses were called angles saxtons jutes and britons later to be changed to firth huntsman norfolk and chantrey

I attended Herdings Junior School in the seventies

 

The houses were:

 

Strelley (Blue)

Howard (Red)

Delovetot (Green)

Talbot (Yellow)

 

I was in Talbot

I went to Norton County (now Mundella) & the the house names were;

Chantrey..blue

Ruskin....green

Graves...yellow

Mundella.red

Newfield school in the 60's , loxley - red, porter - blue, sheaf - yellow, rivelin - green.

Southey Green Secondary Modern 1950s, houses were

Ewden

Loxley (my house)

Porter

Owler Lane Intermediate houses where Shakespeare Milton Tennyson & I think Byron

 

 

Was it not Newton and not Byron?

I went to Abbeydale Middle, our houses were sheffield parks:

Endcliffe

Whirlow

Meersbrook

Millhouses

Millhouses always seemed to have the most points! :o

i went to City School, Stradbroke we had "houses" of Tudor, Lancaster, York cant remember the other one!!

The last one was stuart, they don't have them any longer :)

I went to Hinde House and they had Sorby (yellow) Chantry (green) brierley (red i think) and Hunter (blue).

I was in Sorby

I too went to Hinde House. I think that you have the colours for Brierley and Hunter the wrong way round. I'm fairly certain that Hunter was red and Brierley, blue. I was in Chantry.

I think you right huter was red ....where in wincobank you from and what year was you at hinde house I was in Sorby back in 1965/70.....
