Yeh, buts it's just right wing opinion. The Telegraph is right wing.

Read a left wing paper and get a left wing point of view too.

Who's right?

Probably neither.

Why?

Political bias

Yeah - read a Left wing view point - then you'll realise how they've been lying and deceiving us for years.

Let's not forget Labour predicted up to 15,000 Poles would arrive here annually - that prediction (perhaps it was a blatant lie) was off the mark by at least 10 times!!!

Right wing paranoia or Left wing lies - you decide.

Immigration is all about importing cheap labour and driving down existing wages. That a Labour government, that purports to represent the working man, allows and even encourages mass immigration is the biggest deception the working classes have ever fallen, and continue to fall for

The right wing and bosses as represented by the CBI are generally in favour of immigration. They see the benefits that immigration brings in boosting economies and their profits. Take this well referenced argument, for example.

We already know that businessmen love immigration, because it provides them with a virtually inexhaustible supply of cheap, docile, already trained and usually non-unionised labour. This does not of, course, mean that it is good for society as a whole. There are many negative externalities associated with mass immigration that are not taken account of in business decisionmaking - and why should they be? It is a completely skewed argument therefore to attempt to justify mass immigration by reference to what employers see as the benefits.

I was just pointing out to Borderreiver that to claim that the Right wing view that immigration should be stopped, simplifies the situation to the point of gross inaccuracy.

The negative externalities you refer to are best addressed by more regulation of business, more rights for casual and agency workers and a Trade Union Freedom Bill.

Like any of that's going to happen before hell freezes over in this country...

Our 'New' Labour govt. have never pretended that the working classes are anything but 'Economy' fodder. A necessary evil to be endured and where possible exploited for the comfort and convenience of a political class totally subservient to Big Business and the all-consuming goal of making money.

What honest 'Labour' Prime Minister could be 'big-pals' with the editor of the Daily Mail and even engage said right-wing reactionary as a personal advisor ?

:D

You do not want Africa to alleviate poverty. You do not want to see stable and prosperous African countries...you are a white supremicist. You probably shout 'humbug' when you see smiling healthy African kids:hihi:

As for Brown...you really are not up to speed angle;)

Or pehaps angle20 has realistic views about the African problem, and understands that it should not be the West's responsibility to invest billions in dragging a stone age continent up to speed when its inhabitants haven't evolved enough to exist in a Westernised culture.

A fair point.

With its natural resources, Africa could be a world superpower if its people united. But No! Different countries and different tribes choose to remain divided and kill each other instead, just like what used to happen here in medieval times.

Why is the continent ravaged by AIDS? Is it the white man's fault?

WTF has this got to do with immigration in to Britain???

If the usual suspects want to discuss their percieved superiority of the white man can I politely suggest that they use their superior intellect and use the forum search to find the appropriate thread(s)?

Maybe if the original borders hadn't been altered by the colonial powers, there wouldn't be as much hassle.
