Has anyone else read this story?

This is completely stupid and Passport Control should feel very embarrassed about their misinformed assumption. When the British Muslim Council of Britain state that the Home Office is absurd for thinking this then it doesn't make the do-gooding PC brigade look very well informed.

Maybe this will make them think about what they're doing a little more. I doubt it somehow but it's still funny to see them with a little egg on their smug faces.

You can see the snap here and see that the pic is not offensive at all.

Me neither, it's starting to creep up on the Brits, wake up before it's too late, or maybe it is !

Actually, I can see the point of the authorities here. Why didn't they just clothe the baby like any normal person would have done before the photograph was taken to save all the hassle?

Weird people. They are quite stupid as far as I'm concerned.

In these days of rife paedophilia, why not just excercise a little common sense. And yes: it could upset people from some countries.

Why rock the boat in these circumstances.

Surely conformity is the best policy here.

*Oh dear, I made that outburst before I saw the picture. I thought the baby was actually topless, you know, naked.

Oh, that is so silly! The baby looks fine to me*

Not nearly as offensive as the advert at the bottom of the linked page...Page 3 Casino anyone?

Can someone tell that girl to put some clothes on before she catches a cold?

I wasn't completely surprised at this news either, it just made me sigh at the stupidity of some people and what they think other cultures will find offensive. Surely it's best to research rather than assume?

In the first report the parents actually said they took off the babys top because he was sick on it.

I do have to say this seems like complete madness.

Supposed do-gooders, with their silly and pathetic perceptions of what other races and religions might find offensive, do as much harm in a multi-cultural society as any racist could achieve. They are two extremes yet seem to aspire towards the same goal.

Surely if a passport photograph meets the requirements of the country issuing it, that is all it needs to do?

If another country has a problem, then they reserve the right to refuse entry to the individuals concerned?

Anyway, a head and shoulder shot doesn't usually show someone's chest, surely it shouldn't have been a problem whether the baby was clothed or not.

Crikey, the rest of the page looked like a porn site. I wonder If I'd be in trouble for looking at that page at work.
