Ghozer   112 #3 Posted May 1, 2007 They say they will have everyone by the end of June -- last I heared.. they are already trialling 50mb too - which is tbh beyond enough.. Its upload im bothered about though, 10mb/384kbps - come on, even 8mb dsl has more upload :\ should be atleast 768kbps upload on 10mb  the modems themselves can support up to 54mbps download, and around 35mbps upload - thats on the Motorola Surfboard 4100, the 5100 is a little higher.. - they might as well just un-cap everyone
 Share this content via...
steve_m   10 #4 Posted May 1, 2007 No mention of Sheffield in the Yorkshire section. It seems like its' all x NTL areas that are being upgraded first
 Share this content via...
ASPGuru   10 #5 Posted May 1, 2007 They still haven't sorted all the capacity issues caused by the 10Mb rollout though, so who knows what chaos 20 or 50 Mb will do.  Agree with Ghozer - the uplinks really need to be increased. Ghozer   112 #8 Posted May 1, 2007 googling around, it seems that it will be incresed to 20mbps Download, with 768kbps upload - the upload is still behind the average, but is way better than previous increses... (were talking 96KB/s actual speeds)  Sheffield wont be finished till mid July, and is classed under the "Bradford area" as thats where most of sheffield is routed through... Ghozer   112 #10 Posted May 1, 2007 But we will still be paying the extra £2.00 even though we havn't had the speed increase, yet again  idd, our first £2 extra started this month (cheeky, since they only started the roll out on the 28th april) and they billed us the extra £2 for April
 Share this content via...

psyn   10 #12 Posted May 3, 2007 it is utter sh** that virgin are doing that why pay for top speeds then be forced to have restrictions and limits after a short period of getting what you pay for?!
 Share this content via...
