The forum would be a different place if people had to pay - you'd lose a lot of the membership therefore I'd have to wait and see. Unfortunately so would most canny people, therefore it would never seem as good and would make the universe explode (or summat like that.) I think I lost my point towards the end.. .

I fear we will all pay on Judgement Day for the time we spend on here. I can just imagine the booming voice of God as we enter the pearly gates, chastising SF-ers for wasting the precious time he has given us.

I have made donations to other forums myself.

sometimes it is worth doing.

Often there is some poor bloke trying to keep a motorbike forum going which in reality is a special interest group, and he needs money to upgrade something.

If there are enough members, then it doesn't take much to make a real difference.
