Sheff Wed 3-2 Norwich

A costly error by on-loan Fulham keeper Tony Warner condemned Norwich to defeat in front of 28,000 at Hillsborough....

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws on their highest final league position since their relegation from the Premiership in 2000:

"It's been an incredible season to finish ninth on 71 points and it was important that we got a win under our belt.

"What we've got to do now is nurture what we've established, and bring players in and let players go.

"There will be some casualties along the way, but that's football."

8 Stoke 46 21 73

9 Sheff Wed 46 4 71

10 Colchester 46 14 69

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock is once again going on a Leeds United raid, this time former Manchester United and Preston striker David Healy is on the Blades hit list.

Blades boss Neil Warnock is to be handed a £20,000,000 war chest if the Yorkshire club avoid relegation from the Premiership, but is it is believed that even if the Blades fail to beat the drop they will still attempt to buy Healy who won't want to play League One football next season.

Sheffield United did attempt to buy Healy last January, but the £3,000,000 price tag was felt too much for the Northern Ireland international.
