Thankyou katkin, the photos don't do the room justice really. It looks quite stunning in the flesh, as it were.

It's a very nice bathroom, but £500 for the shower screen, someone saw them coming.

£100 a day for labour... That's a labourers rate, not a plumber, not a tiler and not a bathroom specialist.

That said, if he does a good job, post it on the forum, at that rate he'd never be short of work!

I've seen the photos and envy is the last thing I feel. I like my bathroom to look warm, cosy and welcoming, not like a hotel or a public toilet so it's hardly likely to get me turning green!

Oh yes I see what you mean.

ooooo chilly, freeeeeezin cold.

:hihi: :hihi:

Given that i've never had any work done in London, but plenty in Sheffield I can assure you that you won't find many plumbers, plasterers or tilers who work for £13 an hour. £30 is normally closer to the mark.

Well I have worked in London at Canary Wharf development and as a skilled tiler we were on £18.50 per sq metre labour rate sub-contract. We usually completed between 15 and 20 sq mtrs a day. Day rate was £200.00.

£100 in London for time served skilled trades :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: dream on.

Since I am the guy who has had the bathroom fitted I thought it would be rude to not add a few comments! :)

We are 110% happy with the result of the work carried out. Yes the shower screen was a lot...but we spent a great deal of time looking at bathroom brochures and showrooms to get exactly what we wanted. I at least had the sense to get myself a well paid job to pay for it :)

We appreciate it may not be to everyones tastes but then again what is? We didn't intend on everyone in Sheffield using it! :)

We'll let ya know how cold it is in the winter when the underfloor heating kicks in.

Oh and finally....the big shocker....the bathroom window.....will be cleaned now the work is complete! :D

At that I will take my leave of this thread and thank two fantastic customers.

It was a pleasure to work for such friendly and appreciative people.

Thanks again. :D

It will be rather wet also looking at its position relative to the shower head.:gag:

We have to pay someone £80 a day just to dig . The title says "builder" , I have never come accross one that charges £100 a day. That said , if he does a good job you're laughing.
