Kelham Island Tavern. I think they've even won an award for it, or something.

The garden of the Rutland Arms on Brown Street used to be gorgeous, especially the high wall smothered in deep red roses. I don't know what it's like now, but according to the SF poster who was in on the recent takeover, one of the new bosses is a good keen gardener, so it ought to look great again this summer. :)

I would agree, those two are probably the best. Hillsborough hotel has a nice elevated patio, and the Gardeners Rest overlooks the river, although it's more like Steptoes yard than a beer garden :)
