Grahame   10 #13 Posted April 20, 2007 We used to sing it at Sunday School.  Same as Joanl. I was singing it in Sunday School fifty years ago, followed by verse 2. S.A.V.E.D. (from sin) verse 3. L.O.V.E.D. (by Jesus) verse 4. I am HAPPY, SAVED, and LOVED.
 Share this content via...

waxonwaxoff   13 #16 Posted April 20, 2007 I think it a very old song. Judging by the irony of it, it is probably a WW1 trench song. Google it you may find some answers.  Thanks sounds quite intresting i might take a look.
 Share this content via...

Nigel Womersle   10 #22 Posted April 20, 2007 When I was a kid in the 1950's, it was one of The Ovaltineys' songs. I think the local Salvation Army used to sing it too, but I couldn't swear to it.
 Share this content via...

CHOIRBOY Â Â 10 #24 Posted April 20, 2007 Same as Joanl. I was singing it in Sunday School fifty years ago, followed by verse 2. S.A.V.E.D. (from sin) verse 3. L.O.V.E.D. (by Jesus) verse 4. I am HAPPY, SAVED, and LOVED. Â Yes sung by the very young in Sunday School I think it is a type of Sankey Song possibly American in origin It is not mentioned in Julians Dictionary of Hymnology which was written at Wincobank Vicarage Sheffield 1892 2nd Edition 1907 We sang the vewrses in a different order ie 1 Happy. Loved then saved May be in CSSM Chorus books If i eventually do find the details of author/ composer i will put them on the forum.
