ptolomy   10 #1621 Posted January 24, 2012 Thanks for the replies, especially Abi_Alex - £12? what a bargain! and ideal location, going to get them done next week
 Share this content via...
Nail_LAB   10 #1622 Posted January 24, 2012 (edited) Yes, real shellac and only £12. They've had 20% off in January too so paid even less this month. I have them renewed about every 3 weeks. They don't chip, just a gap where your nail grows. I wouldn't have anything else now or go anywhere else x  Can I ask how u know it's real shellac there's sooooo many fake products out there trying to pass themselves off as the real deal. Ie bluesky shellac, cco shellac ibd shellac the only proper shellac makers are CND. The real deal is an expensive product for salons to buy and wouldn't charge something so ridiculous for the real thing it's not worth the technician/salons money or time.  No damage is done to the nails as long as a qualified person removes and applies nails or treatments. There is light buffing required for the nails to remove surface shine as mentioned, with gel polishes nothing more def not filing Edited January 24, 2012 by Nail_LAB
 Share this content via...
ptolomy   10 #1623 Posted January 24, 2012 I looked Funky Divas up to get the phone number and they're a chain of about 5 salons, I'd be surprised if they were using fake products as quite a large company. Having said that, I'm not sure I'm that bothered if it's 'real' Shellac or not. If it lasts 2 weeks, looks great and isn't damaging Abi_Alex' nails, then it sounds good to me! Â Just because they have a few salons that does mean anything Hun its been known for a lot of salons to buy fake stuff cos they dont want to pay for the real stuff as all there interested in is high profit margins, the only advice ill give u then is keep a look out at the bottles like I said the only makers of real shellac is CND. If its anything else it's fake. The bottles look similar to the real stuff but the brand name on the bottle is different.
 Share this content via...

I can definately 100% say they are genuine Shellac CND (say it on all their bottles) - exact same bottle / quality as I have had in all salons I have used in the past. x Edited January 24, 2012 by Abi_Alex
 Share this content via...

Linda1983   10 #1627 Posted January 30, 2012 Hi  I'm looking for a mobile beautician who can offer sugaring treatment as an alternative to waxing. Any recommendation would be appreciated. I'm in the S2 area.  Thanks Linda
 Share this content via...
SnifferDog   10 #1628 Posted January 30, 2012 Hi, after years of having my nails acrylic'd, they are in a really poor state, so I've thought about having them Silk'd or Gel'd ~ not sure which is the best option, or where to go to get them done. Ideally I'd like a mobile technician, but if its a case of getting someone good I'd go to a salon. The lady that has done mine previously only does Acrylic, hence my dilemma.  Any help or suggestions will be warmly welcomed. Nail_LAB Â Â 10 #1629 Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) Where did u use to have them done as if acrylics are removed properly they will do very minimal damage or non at all. So something suggests they werent taken off properly or they were heavily filed prior to application. Â If ur use to having acrylics ur going to have to get use to the other systems such as gels or silks as there not as durable meaning u cant b as heavy handed so you will notice alot of them pinging off otherwise. MSG me with the info of where u use to go and we can talk some more about things if you wish.
