Maternity & baby/child clothes, baby equipment - where can I get them?

Recommended Posts

If you sign up for the CCC card you can get 10% off when it arrives, though you probably already do that if you're the outdoorsy type.

Thanks Zebra, yes it's (believe it or not) £150 without the card £135 with one. I've Googled but not managed to find it much less than £135, most places have it around the £122 - £127 mark plus p&p but it's worth the little bit extra to try it on, get the advice and support a local business which has served me well over the years.

If a shop opened in Sheffield which specialised in maternity wear would you use it (if the prices were right obviously)?

Next time definitely, I had nothing to wear when heavily preg last summer- I had a lot of the long sjeap t shirts from Primark (not maternity but long enough to wear over bump), one white embroidered maternity skirt from mothercare, one pair of mternity jeans from mothercare (which by the way are sooo overpriced!!!) and not much else. Oh, some balck trousers from George at Asda (not good in that sort of heat lol!). Now New Look at Meadowhall stock nice materity clothes as do H&M but would be very nice to have cheap, well-sized and fashionable clothes, defo!!

yes i would but hurry up and open! i sold /gave away all my 1st preg clothes so its a nightmare having to buy again. jojomamanbebe are good-the sale esp! george have nice bits but they're ending it, h&m are pooh. D&P are good for basics. i ended up in ETON the other day getting 12/14s in designer to see me thru to the end. Got 6 tops for £60 really happy, love sales in there! and i can wear them after when i go back down(hopefully) to normal me size and then sell em on ebay!:D

do you prefer them in sensible clothing or do you dress them as mini me's?

was going through town other day and saw a girl aged around 6yrs wearing stilletto (high heels) boots, poor thing was wobbleing all over. its fine in house as dress up (in mums old shoes) but to buy them for every day use, let kids be kids.

I prefer to see kids dressed AS kids, not mini me's its kida sad really. I mean yeah dress them smart by almeans for parties and photo's etc but no need to put my boys in suits. Jeans and t shirts all the way for my two

mini sav is a casual kid with certain items for if we are visiting. She has boots just now bt they are sensible flat boots. The do sell heels for 2 year olds and ts quite worrying! She is almost out of her boots now and will be gettin a pair of trainers for summer time.

My girls have things which look stereotypically cute on babies, frilly dresses, jeans, t-shirts, flat boots, flat shoes, flat sandals.

The only thing which they have which is frequently worn by adults too is several fake fur gilets.

I'll keep them as kids for as long as it seems appropriate.

babybaby is probably a minime insofar as i buy clothes for her that i like (and would probably wear if they were big enough for me), but as they're usually pretty sensible items of clothing i guess that's fine anyway. except that i dont' wear vests. or nappies.

There was a 4 year old near our home recently in platform soles ... it isnt good for them, their bones havent correctly formed yet.

Our kids have a mixture of hand me downs and chain store casual clothes, with a couple of pretty dresses / best shirts for dressing up, which hardly ever happens.

thats what i thought when i saw this girl, her poor feet. took my eldest to school disco few yrs ago there were 7yr old girls turning up in lycra cat suits, and other club wear that most teens wear with heeled boots:loopy:

my eldest girl wont wear frilly dresses but keeps covered up, with trainers or flat boots, i have a fight to get her out of jeans
