Political correctness with the force of law

Not only is it politically incorrect to call somebody a 'bloody foreigner', it is now a criminal offence !!

Using the words alone?

Not yet. It isn't.

But .....when combined with use of abusive words and behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke violence, contrary to section 4 of the Public Order Act 1986, it can transform the offence into the racially aggravated form of that offence, contrary to section 31(1)(a) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

What happens if one calls them "invited guests to contribute to the wellbeing of our economy" with the intention of irony?

Then the 'Irony Police' - they're the ones with the smiles - will get you. :nono:

soon you wont be able to look at a foreigner, as giving then a "dirty or distainful" glance may cause offence, soon will come the day when you will have to bow your head in reverence :loopy:

Taken to it's logical conclusion, this ruling suggests that to call a chav a 'bloody chav' in a derogatory or abusive manner will be a criminal offence, - if you are not yourself a chav.

Take care dear people, - and mind your language :suspect:

Did you miss the part of the article where it mentioned that he issued the phrases "bloody foreigners" and "get back to your own country" at the women in question after 'pursuing them aggressively' into a shop? It wasn't simply the defendants words which got him into trouble it was his words in combination with his aggressive actions.
