What made you pick your username?

Well I wanted just viper but it had been taken so carpetviper is just a different particular nasty breed of viper

New Year's Eve 1987. Fancy Dress party around Grenoside, I went in Hawaiin shirt, bermuda shorts, sunglasses, and an 8ft homemade cardboard surfboard.

 

This cardboard surfboard was immense. Painted and jazzed up with graffiti. Sweet!

 

Anyway, in the Norfolk arms at Greno till the wee small hours to come out and be met by 2 ft of snow and ice. As you do, we had to try the surf board out down the middle of the road. After a couple of hundred yards of surfing we noticed an unusual flashing of lights behind us.

 

As we turned round, we were greeted by 2 of SYPD's finest howling with laughter and escorting us home. The nickname of SurfinJim has been around since then.

I'm sure this threads already been done, but if so it was before my time and my search didnt bring it up....so, how did you come up with your username on here?

 

Mine is from "fabulous girl's guide to life" which is a book about etiquette that i got for xmas a couple of years ago. Its very much based around trying to BE Holly Golightly, and since BreaKfast at Tiffany's is one of my favourite films, I picked fabulous_girl.

I came up with mine as a throwback to a poem I wrote (back when poetry writing was cool) about how I think that just like we watch them, the stars watch us as night too (life on other planets & blah blah blah)... but I don't think people get it ... I think people just think that star_gazing was taken
