Cant see beyond 49 minutes at mo but you never know!!  Have a go at some speed work.  Runnersworld website has some good tips on how this can improve your general pace. It worked for me. My first 10k when I took up running a couple of years ago as a 41-year old, took me a shade under an hour. Thanks to some good tips from the above, my pb is now a "lightning-quick" 50:20..!  At this rate, a gold at the 2012 London Olympics is nailed on......
