Anyone got a cat/kitten thats seems to start meowing for hours for no apparent reason?

One of mine will start meaowing for about an hour or so and then stop again.

Doesnt seem to need toilet, food, water, not poorly..........only 7 month and an indoor cat. Only thing i can think is that she is bored? what do you reckon?

and you're sure your house isn't haunted?

Sorry, I've no idea

Brude has noisy evenings sometimes - just coz he feels like it :suspect:

I've got an adult who does that. :)

It is bloody annoying....and I have no idea why he does it.

I THINK that he likes us to know exactly where he is in the house; this soudns daft but he'll often stop once he knows that I know where he is. :)

My Arthur wanders round the house generally whingeing for hours sometimes- to the point that other people ask me what's wrong when they're hearing him down the other end of the phone. Some cats are just like that, and it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Of course, it could mean that he's in pain, or a million other things too- but you may never know what it is.

This morning she is doing it for hours! meowing, meowing, meowing! constantly! Its doing my head in! she doesnt seem in pain, and is running around and stuff and playing with my other cats and my dogs tails as normal!

I think she maybe bored. I might contemplate having her done and then letting her outside. my ears and head cant take anymore! :)

Take it she hasnt been spayed yet? Suspect she may be coming into season for the first time and howling for a mate.... Get her off to the vets, she'll keep coming into season every few weeks otherwise, or worse- will get out and bring back a few little surprises for you...

No she hasnt been spayed. On the odd time that the back door has been left open she hasnt gone out though? I would have thought that if she wanted a mate she would have run out of the door as soon as she had the chance wouldnt she?

My cat does this in the middle of the night sometimes. It's loud enough to wake me up. As soon as I call her though she stops, runs upstairs and then leaps onto the bed all the while purring like mad. I think she just wants a bit of attention. Either that or she's afraid of the dark :)
