The Cutting Edge

Don't get me wrong, I quite like "The Cutting Edge" sculpture outside the station, but it's a bit of a driving hazard.

I've driven down Sheaf Street towards Queens Road both yesterday and today at about 4 o'clock. On both days the road has been wet but with bright sunlight, and as a consequence there's an almost blinding glare.

I know you can't do much about the wet road or sun, but surely they could apply a brushed effect to the sculpture to make ot safe?

Has anyone else had problems? And what's it like at night?

It needs brusing some more then!

I'm sure it's fine most of the time, but being dazzled twice in one week suggests to me that it's far from perfect.

I just hope that no pedestrians get injured as a result.

Provided the cars stay on the road and pedestrians stay on the pavement that shouldn't happen.

I arrived back into Sheffield by train last night and was somewhat alarmed by the sculpture on leaving the station.

What with the eerie red glow, swirling winds and some degree of steam it looked as though I was entering hell itself.

Points for effort though :hihi:
