Blackburn Let Down By Linesman

Referee, Howard Webb involved in another fracas with players; this time at Blackburn v West Ham game. The linesman signalled a West Ham goal for a shot which didn't cross the line, the ball striking Tevez who actually stopped it crossing the line. He would also have been in an offside position. West Ham won the game with this goal. It isn't good enough officials.

I said that, there is millions riding on these games and mistakes like these are causing people there careers,

It was obvious from a very poor angle that it didn,t go in and i was expecting the offside flag, so when it was given i couldn,t beileve it, good game in the end though crap first half but a very decent second full of incident.

The angles I saw on Prem Plus were most convincing. It wasn't a goal, Curbishley has admitted that but "will take it", but how can one see all the ball over the line when it hasn't happened? - if you aren't sure, don't give it, like an LBW in cricket.

There were other dubious decisions which will be chewed over on MOTD but I thought it was a penalty as Emerton took the back leg,

We agree, it can be so costly to clubs, managers etc. yet the officials go from match to match and those complaining about unjust decisions get fined.

On the angle side of things i was meaning from first glance first opinion, it wasn,t till about the 3rd replay that you could defo say yes it didn,t cross the line but the ref only has 1 look thats why video evidence should be brought in, only in certain circumstances though, or it would spoil the excitement of the game.

It wasn't the referee's call - hence my title - the linesman gave the goal. I'm all for technology if it brings the correct decision and justice. Don't know if this will be shown o MOTD but there was another decision where Friedl was adjudged to have taken a ball behind the bye-line. The linesman couldn't possibly have seen through the near post, the net and Friedl's back.

To be honest it was hard to tell in that actual incident, it looked suspect when it left his hands for a split second but id say that looked in, but back to the point what about 2 linesmen (i still call em it lol) on each side like i have heard metioned?

If the Mendes' goal at OT couldn't be given, I don't see how this could be. If you aren't sure, you don't give it but it beats me how he thought this had crossed the line when it clearly hadn't?
