One thing to have with you...

Have been speaking to my granny a lot lately because she cant have long left. And she tasked me with a rather unusual thing when she dies.

I have to take her teddy from when she was a child and look after it or burn it. It is too valuable to her to let it be forgotten about she would rather no one have it that it be neglected.

And it got me thinking... what one thing do I have that is so valuable to me personally that I would not want it to be forgotten about. I came to the same conclusion (well almost it isnt a bear) that my stuffed elephant I have had since I can remember is more valuable than anything else I have and I would want it with me when I die - sort of a continuity thing.

So. If you had to pick one thing to have with you when you died (item not person) what would it be.

Bloody morbid I know! But im curious as to how many other people would say childhood toy?

A large kebab with all the trimmings!

I allways carry a donner card, so someone can benefit from my kebab after my death.....

My nan wants me to make sure that the letters sent to her during the war by my grandad, who died shortly thereafter, in her coffin with her. I'm more than happy to oblige her.

There is nothing physical that I want with me, but there are lots of things that I'd prefer to destroy before I die rather than let anyone else have them. I've already shredded lots of diaries because they were too personal to let anyone else see, but there are others still left that I will at some point make peace with and destroy (and most of the contents of my memories box falls into the same category too).

I'm not in as much of a hurry to destroy things this week though- since I now officially no longer have cancer. Suddenly I feel a bit invincible and immortal.

My Dalek.

If I get rich enough I want to be buried in a full size Dalek instead of a coffin.

Look! Its not sad!

That'd be exactly something my OH would want too! He'd want to take his Tardis, Doctor Who figure and Cyberman thingy with him too. He's Doctor Who mad!!!!!!
