Krammers Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Took my daughter to a party last weekend at the old silver blades ice rink, which is now a roller blading rink. Thought I would have no problems roller blading as I have been able to ice skate for many years, going to the silver blades ice rink every wednesday and saturday nights as a child in the 80's, and owning my own (turbo bauer) boots, but I found it really difficult at first, trying to get my balance. Friends had said to me if you can ice skate then you will beable to roller blade, I think its alot harder than ice skating, but fun. What do you think....?
midvixen Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I also went for the first time a couple of Sundays ago. I have only ice skated once and never roller skated so I was nervous to say the least! I spent 2 hours holding onto my husband for grim death going round and getting very disheartened watching 6 year olds zooming past me!!! Saying that, it was the best time I have had in ages!!! It's a great laugh and the rink is mostly full of families rather than chavs that seem to congregrate at the ice skates. After a few Sundays, I may be able to skate more than 3 feet on my own without falling on my ar*e!!
