Warning long!!!

I have been with Yorkshire bank forever, & they really are poor.

The Internet banking is a waste of time. with all the stupid questions they ask you.

I received my bank statement a few days ago, I must admit I dont really pay great attention to it. (I know I should do). but I noticed there was a transaction that said. tele bnk bill £1000.00 that I had paid out. confused. I havent got a telebanking set up. & it was exact that amount. heart starts pounding. as to I've been done.

I looked on the internet banking site. eventually. as they asked a question, I didnt have the answer to. so locked me out. had to ring them up. sorted eventually. told me exactly the same on the site, telephone banking bill!!!

I later phoned Yorkshire bank, got a woman, couldnt understand her. someone will phone me tomorrow.

just hada phone call now, she didnt know what it was for exactly, she should be able to tell me what it was for. she said. do I want it crediting. it could be a mistake this tele banking etc.

Someone else is getting back to me. my hubby is with hsbc. everything with them is clear as a bell. know exactly what everything is. transfer etc.

I probably shouldve said. I did find out late last night, that I did make a transfer to my hubbys acct., but til then I might just act stupid. til they tell me what it is !!!

Yorkshire Bank should be done under trades description act as they are in fact National Australia Group and they thus sully the good name of Yorkshire. When I called them recently and asked the person on the phone where she was cos it sounded like Scotland she said she was in Glasgow and I commented that wasn't in Yorkshire and she said "no we are National Australia Group". Glasgow is in Australia it seems.

I would change banks tomorrow to my hubbys acct., but I have loads of direct debits to change.

so frustrating, the bank should know where my monies coming & going. another acct. I have tells me exactly what Ispent it on. ie. Asda, cinema, etc.

I am not telling them, what i thinkit may be.

really is poor.

I think banks can do something with direct debits now when you move your account, I would check though if that is the main reason for not moving.

Do they just do that automatically. or do you have to givethem a list of direct debits you have.

cant quite imagine YB doing that.

I too have been with Yorkshire Bank forever and to show their appreciation of my loyalty they charged £41 for overdrawing by 20 quid. Anyhow, the excuses they came up with to justify their rip off charges has convinced me to look around and find a different bank. I was looking at Halifax and they said they would do everything with regards to swapping direct debits etc so I wouldn't have to lift a finger.

I've been a customer with Yorkshire bank for longer than I care to remember and on the whole they've been okay.

I think most people can either tell a horror story or have heard of one about most if not all the banks.

I had a friend who worked for Lloyds but would never of been one of their customers, obviously she saw things going on behind the scenes that worried her. A TSB bank managed to lose the deeds for my mothers house as the manager was in the habit of taking documentation home with him.

Anyone can change banks but some-one somewhere is going to have a horror story for which ever one you then start using.
