Local/Regional Festivals

Hi,

I have googled a bit, but can't seem to find much.

What local or regional (ie sensible distance from Sheffield) festivals are there?

I'm thinking along the line of music/comedy type things.

Of course I know about The Last Laugh comedy week later in the year, but haven't found much else.

We often go to stay with friends in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival, and would like to invite them here for some entertainment, I just can't seem to find something to invite them too!!

Any suggestions welcomed!

Cheers!

It looks like Sharrow Festival is on the 14th July this year. I googled it and there's a wordpad? document that gives a contact number. The website is 3 years out of date:P

According to last year's thread on this topic there's also an Abbeyfield Festival, though I can't find much more on it... I have no idea where abbeyfield is.

Oh, there's also Stainsby Festival which I am told is very family friendly with good bands although I've not managed to get there yet. This is in Derbyshire, but not far. And I found this http://www.handleyvillagefestival.com/NewFiles/Festival%20Booking%20Form.pdf again, I'm afraid I have no experience of it but it's only in Chesterfield.

There is the Heeley Festival held near Heeley City Farm and includes Anns Grove school and the Millenium Park and Heeley Parish Church does cream teas yummy! Always well attended and very enjoyable they get the kids from the surrounding schools to have a procession to Taggies field to open it! Its better than Sharrow in my opinion!

Looks quite good. According to the City Farm website it's on Saturday 16th June this year. I'll try it out - thanks!
