Nice 3 and 2 seater sofa gone to waste

Just a little gripe about folk in general.

 

How is it when i advertised this sofa a few months ago for £50 had loads of interest but decided to keep it a bit longer due to saving for new carpet, and now we are ready to get rid i have offered it for FREE only had one reply which led to not even a viewing so today it's going outside as new carpet is coming tomorrow, and when i have the van tomorrow it will be going to the tip.

 

Just seems a waste as this has a few years left in it and i know there are people out there who could put this to great use.

Selling stuff needs reverse psychollogy mate.

 

FREE - would infer theres something wrong with it/ it's too shabby to sell...

 

What you need to do is put a silly price like £100 with wording like 'offers accepted'.

 

Have a 'reserve' - say the £50 you actually wanted & let folk knock you down to that.

 

They'll be gloating that they got a bargain & you'll be laughing all the way to the pub

I tried to sell a year old £700 sofa(fire proof) for £50 in Want Ads. Didnt get one phone call, so finished up giving to St.Lukes Hospice for free.I dont mind this at all, would rather them have it.
