Can you download the files you watch on youtube to your computer???

Ive seen a couple of sheffield videos id like to download and keep on my computer, is this possible?

if you use firefox you can alo dl videos using this extension:

when you save the file

make sure you save it as

filename.flv

 

hence

you will only be able to play it in flv player.

 

to view it in windows media/real one player

you'll have to convert the file

Jon, Once you've saved your vids to your comp as flv files then download a free flv converter, again you'll find these by googling the term. You should then be able to convert your flv files to AVI to watch in windows or you can convert them to 3pg to download onto your phone.. I've got loads of youtube vids on mine!.

 

You'll find that if you download a free converter it will only let you convert files of upto 5 mins. But there aren't that many youtube vids which are more than that anyway. Obviously if you pay then you get unlimited video lengths.
