Surround Systems... Help!

Hi, I am looking for a surround systems and i know nothing about them! Need your opinions and your recommendation! The Surround Systems will be for my Sky HD Box, Xbox 360 and possibly my DVD player.

 

My budget is £200 - 250.

You have two main options really. You can either get an all in one set up which comes with an amp/sub woofer and the five speakers, or you can get an AV receiver and buy the speakers seperately.

The all in one sounds much simplier! I have looked on richer sounds website and there's so many to choose from! You got any recommendations for me like Brands, models etc ?! Sorry if i'm being difficult here!

visit richer sounds, i've always found them amenable.

i always buy dvd players with surround 'cos it;s the onlt time i feel the need to have that effect. i can switch it on for tv stuff, but as i rarely watch stuff that benefits surround i don't really bother.

 

mark kermode once reported that the sub woofer should be place under a sofa for best impact.

Yeah i might go in and visit Richer Sounds. Yeah i might have to get 1 with a DVD as part of the package!

I'd recommend visiting Richer Sounds as they are a pretty helpful bunch of guys up there and can do decent deals when you buy DVD player and surround sound units together.
