artinthepark   10 #4 Posted March 2, 2007 Yes, the event is at a very small greenspace called Blake Street Nature Park. It's a small community greenspace and you might not have come across it before. It is on Blake Street, Boyce Street and off Daniel Hill Street. If you know where Ruskin park is in Walkley, it is very close to that park.  Hope you find it and come along! cgksheff   44 #5 Posted March 12, 2007 Colourful date with creepy crawlies  CHILDREN got back to nature by making giant creep crawly sculptures and costumes in a Sheffield nature park. The youngsters were thrilled to make all sorts of bug and insect costumes from recycled materials to wear in a mini-parade next month.  They learned how to make sculptures from willow when artist Moira Benoit gave them lessons in Blake Street Nature Park, Walkley, yesterday.  Families also enjoyed joining trying out a few circus skills.  Coun Bryan Lodge, Sheffield Council cabinet member for green spaces, said: "Kids got lots of enjoyment from it because it was a chance to be creative and also learn something about the environment and nature."  After making costumes and sculptures, the youngsters were then given a chance to have a look at real creepy crawlies and bugs with nature expert Peter Clegg.  http://www.sheffieldtoday.net/ViewArticle.aspx?ArticleID=2113535&SectionID=
 Share this content via...
